The Assistant Director for DAR Communications enhances the university’s relationship with alumni, students and parents through the ideation and creation of creative, informative and engaging content and the execution of strategic messaging and communications plans.
Required education and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related field
- Four to six years of experience in journalism, public relations, alumni relations or fundraising, with emphasis on higher education or nonprofit setting
- Proven ability to write strategic, engaging content and messaging for digital and print communications
- Superior grammar, spelling and editing skills and superior knowledge of AP Style
- Outstanding listening and communications skills, both written and oral
- Excellent creative problem-solving skills
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in multiple forms of communications technologies and approaches
