Public Relations and Communications Strategist

Writes and edits content targeting employers, members and retirees for the VRS website, e-newsletters, print communications and social media in support of agency initiatives and public relations and communications efforts. Serves as communications liaison with other agency departments. Conducts research and analyzes data. Develops new communication products for print and web.
Bachelor’s degree in mass communications, public relations, journalism or closely related field; at least four years of demonstrated communication experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing, editing and proofreading, conforming to Associated Press (AP) Style, as well as agency style and standards.
- Demonstrated experience in web, email, social media and print communications.
- Advanced knowledge of public relations/marketing communications best practices.
- Knowledge of VRS programs and services and/or employee benefit plans desirable.
Hybrid Work Schedule with in office days on Tuesday and Wednesday.
