2016 District APR Boot Camp to be Held in Richmond, April 6-9

The PRSA Mid-Atlantic District will host the country’s second-ever District APR Boot Camp April 6-9 at the Jefferson Lakeside Country Club in Richmond, Va. Space is limited to 17 participants. Candidates must register for the boot camp by March 1.

“Our chapter is honored to host the Mid-Atlantic District APR Boot Camp again,” said Andrew Ryan, APR, PRSA Richmond president. “Last year, the boot camp resulted in more than 10 new APRs in the District. We’re excited to surpass that accomplishment this year.”

The APR Boot Camp is a four-day intensive course for candidates to prepare and advance through the Readiness Review™ and take the computer-based Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) or Accreditation in Public Relations + Military Communication (APR+M). The course is designed to provide a setting that will meet the needs of busy professionals whose schedules don’t permit extensive preparation time.

“I participated in the 2015 Mid-Atlantic APR Boot Camp and can attest to the benefits of the structured, four-day program,” said Lindsay Grant, 2016 PRSA Richmond accreditation chair. “The sense of community formed at the boot camp is inspiring, and the group study format provides encouragement all the way leading up to the computer-based exam.”

The cost of the APR Boot Camp is $400, and five scholarships are available to PRSA Richmond chapter members. Scholarship applications are due by Monday, Jan. 11, 2016.
