Chapter Releases Results of 2015 Membership Survey

PRSA Richmond has released the results of its biennial membership survey. Chapter members were surveyed in December 2015 about a variety of topics, including membership retention, dues, chapter services, program topics, chapter demographics, and more. The survey is an important tool for the board to gauge the chapter’s success in delivering valuable services to members.

Key findings include that members like the chapter and view it as a leader in the PR community, helping members reach their professional goals. The chapter’s monthly luncheons, website and JobLink rate as the most important services the chapter offers. The chapter has a 97 percent member satisfaction rate.

The response rate for the survey was 31 percent, which was up from 25 percent in 2013.

“The membership survey is an incredibly powerful tool for our chapter,” said Andrew Ryan, APR, PRSA Richmond president. “The board takes the feedback from members seriously, so hearing directly from members is critical to the board’s efforts to improve the chapter and deliver valuable resources.”

Ryan said the board has identified five areas as opportunities for growth, including board communication, chapter diversity, the membership directory, professional development workshops and chapter social events. The board is developing specific plans to address each of these opportunities and will share additional details, including how members can get involved in these efforts.

The survey was conducted online via Survey Monkey and shared with members through e-mail, social media and announcements at PRSA events.
