February 2020 President’s Message

Greetings, PRSA Richmond!

Well, we made it to February. What are you most looking forward to this month? Valentine’s Day! A President’s Day snowstorm! Mardi Gras! Whatever’s in store, Laissez les bon temps rouler. Let the good times roll. There’s lots of good rolling around PRSA Richmond this month. So, let’s get started!

The first thing good is something I forgot to mention from the lunch podium last week: Make sure your member profile is updated for 2020. Our special sections are planning some great events and content this year, and we want to be sure you’re included! Simply log in on our website and click on “Edit Your Profile Information.” There are boxes for Agency, Indie Practitioner, Nonprofit, Education, Corporate, Government, Senior Practitioner, Young Practitioner, etc. Our lives and jobs change over time. So check all that applies to you in 2020. And put your PRSA membership to work!

Even better are the 12 new members who have joined PRSA at the start of 2020! Warm welcomes to Mary Bishop, Chris Carter, Kyla Goldsmith-Ray, Amber Godfrey, Destiny Moore, Sara Moriarty, Taylor Peterson, Kate Pyle, Maria Reppas, D’Eric Watson, Erin Wendell and Koury Wilson. By joining PRSA, 2020 will be your year to advance your professional development, though new connections and programs that PRSA offers.

Another good thing is the lineup of webinars offered by PRSA National this month. These webinars (while they can cost upwards of $200) always come FREE to PRSA members – a huge member benefit. You can even earn APR credits. Check out these great topics – some were offered at the 2019 PRSA International Conference, so take advantage of these learning opportunities if you missed ICON!
