Give to the Foundation for a Chance to Win a Two-Night Northern Neck Retreat

By Cameron McPherson, APR

How are you?

From racial injustice to economic hardships, I know many people are hurting.

It’s a tough time to ask for donations. Layoffs and budget reductions related to the financial downturn caused by the COVID-19 continue to negatively impact our industry.

But I believe it’s important we continue to support the next generation of PR students, so if you’re able to, please do so.

PLEASE GIVE TO THE FOUNDATION

The Richmond Public Relations Foundation is fundraising for its scholarship program through Dec. 2. Any amount helps.

For every $25 you give between Nov. 2-Dec. 2, you’ll be entered into the Foundation’s fall raffle. One lucky person will receive a complimentary weekend in a guest house at Tabbs Creek Retreat. Located in White Stone on Virginia’s Northern Neck, the property is situated on a quiet cove, but only minutes from terrific restaurants, antique shops, wineries and unique gift boutiques.

Giving is easy (and tax deductible).

HERE’S HOW THE FOUNDATION MAKES AN IMPACT

The Foundation is the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of PRSA Richmond. For more than 20 years, the Foundation has worked to enhance the public relations profession through scholarship programs.

The Foundation awards three $1,500 scholarships to juniors and seniors at select Virginia colleges and universities who are planning to pursue careers in public relations after graduation. In addition, the Foundation has a limited fund to assist current practitioners in the Accreditation in Public Relations process by reimbursing fees up to $275.

You’ll see the Foundation in action at the November luncheon when we give out the David P. Hurdle, William Dietrick and Daphne Lowell Dailey Memorial Scholarships to three deserving college students. Your donations make these scholarships happen.

Please email Foundation president Cameron McPherson, APR with any questions at cmcpherson@hodgespart.com.

Thank you for your support.
