PRSA National Seeking Board Candidates for 2017 Board of Directors

PRSA National has opened up its annual nominating process for all qualified members interested in serving on the 2017 PRSA Board of Directors. Board members serve as the public face and voice of the organization, act on behalf of the entire public relations profession, assist with committees and provide strategic guidance and valuable insight into industry trends.

The Board positions include three annually available executive committee positions (APR required), as well as a director position for our Mid-Atlantic District (APR required) and one at-large director (available to non-APR members) position.

This is a great opportunity for Richmond chapter members with 20+ years in the profession and who have served our chapter or district in board leadership capacities.

All applications must be submitted by Tuesday, June 14. The PRSA Nominating Committee will interview qualified candidates when it convenes July 29-31, 2016 at PRSA’s Headquarters in New York City. In reviewing candidates, the committee will assess qualifications such as leadership skills and professional accomplishments. Final selections will be presented for a vote by the PRSA Leadership Assembly in Indianapolis, Ind. on Saturday, Oct. 22.

“Now is a time when the industry needs strong leaders and there has never been a more important time to serve as a national PRSA leader,” said Joe Cohen, APR, 2016 chair of the Nominating Committee. “With a new strategic plan in development, this incoming slate of officers will have a unique opportunity to help usher in an exciting new chapter for PRSA.”
