Recognize those special PR folks in Virginia!
Do you know someone at your organization who goes above and beyond? Do you know someone that exemplifies excellence and made a contribution to the public relations profession? Or do you know someone early in their career, but is already becoming a mover and shaker in the industry?
Well, here is your chance to recognize them at the upcoming Virginia PR Awards in May! Each year, PRSA Richmond recognizes two outstanding individuals with the Thomas Jefferson Award for Excellence and the Rising Star Award. And, the best thing about it is – these award entries are FREE! Yes, FREE!
The Thomas Jefferson Award for Excellence recognizes the achievements of a seasoned public relations practitioner. Nominees are assessed based on their participation in PRSA, contribution to the profession, local/national recognition, their commitment to public service, mentorship, continuing education and professional awards.
The Rising Star Award recognizes an outstanding new member in the profession with five or fewer years of experience in PR. They are judged on their early career success, the promise of future leadership in the field, outstanding work, commitment to the values of PRSA, involvement in the community and community service and enthusiasm and initiative. Judges will come together after the deadline to score each of these categories.
If you know someone to nominate in either of these categories, submit a 250-word statement summarizing why this person is deserving, a headshot, up to five letters of recommendations and up to five supporting documents. You must also include an executive summary of the submission, up to 100 words.
The deadline for the awards is March 5. Get your award entries in now, and we look forward to seeing you in May for the big surprises!
