Recognizing Students at the 2019 Virginia Public Relations Awards

Students of today are the public relations professionals of tomorrow. That’s why, this year, we’ve added student award categories for our 2019 Virginia Public Relations Awards.

There are two categories for student submissions: the Community Impact Award and the Innovation Award.

  • Community Impact Award: This award recognizes student public relations work that directly impacts a real non-profit organization. Students should identify an organization’s problem or opportunity for PR, the strategic process, and the impact of the work upon completion.
  • Innovation Award: This award recognizes imaginative and unique student public relations work that produced measurable results. Submissions for this category might include an out-of-the-box PR tactic or a creative PR strategy. However, if the PR work was not actually implemented for this category – that’s okay! The evaluation can address how one might measure the tactic for evaluation if it were implemented in reality.

Any student currently enrolled in a two- or four-year institution of higher education in Virginia is eligible to apply by the deadline of April 1. Further details about the two categories and submission requirements can be found here.

We hope you’ll join us in showcasing outstanding PR work from Virginia students by sending this information to a student (or students) whose work you think would be a good fit! We’d love to see some creative entries as we present these awards for the first time ever. Students are invited to attend, as well, at a reduced student cost – more information on that to come!
