September President’s Message: Back to PRSARVA!
Back to school and back to PRSA Richmond could not have come soon enough for me this year. Getting back into the swing of a regular connection with colleagues and diving back into important projects brings renewed motivation and a welcomed energy.
Amidst the heightened conversation of what constitutes ethical decision-making in the media and in positions of power…have you revisited the PRSA Code of Ethics lately? At our September Luncheon, we’ll be reminded of our own core values in public relations.
What better way to live out our core beliefs than the service project with Home Again Richmond – have you signed on to lend your PR skills? Another way we’re committing to what PRSA Richmond believes is the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Promise. The Board has been developing these important “walk-the-walk” guidelines to bring before you, the membership. It’s a crucial step to take for our organization.
As newly minted communications grads are settling into entry-level jobs and many are preparing to graduate in December, there are exciting changes brewing with an evolving Young Professionals group in PRSARVA. And . . . Student Connections Week has grown into an entire month of student-inclusive activities in October.
Can you see why I’m stoked to launch into all of these initiatives? Let’s get back to PRSARVA!
