President's Corner August 2026

Aug. 3, 2026

As August arrives and summer winds down, our attention naturally turns toward fresh opportunities, renewed routines, and the momentum that accompanies a new season. Calendars start to fill, classrooms prepare to welcome students, organizations shift from vacation mode, and communicators everywhere find themselves helping audiences navigate another new season. With many of us returning from vacations, preparing for the back-to-school season, or refocusing on the goals we've set for ourselves and our organizations, August offers an opportunity to reflect before we accelerate into the busy months ahead. It is often during these quieter moments that our best ideas take shape and our strongest connections are renewed.

While PRSA Richmond has taken a break from our monthly luncheon programming, our chapter has still remained busy. Throughout the summer, our special section groups have continued to bring members together for meaningful conversations, shared learning, and professional connection. Those gatherings are a wonderful reminder that the strength of our chapter isn't defined solely by our events, but also rooted in the relationships we cultivate all year long.

I'm especially looking forward to reconnecting with all of you as we resume our chapter luncheon series this October. Until then, I encourage you to stay engaged through our social media channels and website, for the latest on upcoming events and opportunities for professional development. As always, thank you for your continued commitment to PRSA Richmond and to one another. I hope the remainder of your summer is filled with rest, inspiration, and renewed energy for the exciting opportunities that await us this fall.

Together, let's continue creating Aligned Interactions, championing Authentic Inclusion, and embracing Adaptive Innovation one conversation, one connection, and one community at a time.

With appreciation and anticipation,

Kenita B. Matthews, APR
